I would like to talk about MY dream panel of authors. Gosh, this is difficult to narrow down to just a few authors!! Even as I write this post, I keep thinking of another author to place on my panel. I have read so many books as a child and adult that have had such an impact on my life - changing my perspective, affecting my emotions, and just simply providing me a place of respite from the stresses of life. (This is definitely a dream panel, considering three out of the four authors are no longer living.)
My dream panel of authors would be: Laura Ingalls Wilder, Frank McCourt, Beverly Cleary, and Anne Frank.
Each one of these authors has provided me with an incredible, unrepeatable reading experience as I lost myself between the cover(s) of their books. My experience with literature was forever changed after reading the words of these authors.
These are the questions I would pose to each author on the panel:
- What are your favorite pieces of literature?
- How has the written word (yours or someone else's) changed your life?
- What advice would you offer to aspiring writers?
Which authors (living or dead) would be on your dream panel? What questions would you ask them?

I think I'd like to meet Tasha Tudor, Don Freeman, and definitely Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The Little House on the Prairie books are some of my favorite from my childhood. I would love to meet Laura Ingalls Wilder and ask her so many questions about her life experiences and her amazing books!

I would want to chat with Barbara Kingsolver, Toni Morrison, Louis Bayard, Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins. Laura Wilder would be fun too!
Great choices! Beverly Cleary would definitely make the list, and the great thing is you could definitely still see her at some point.
Other than that...this is a tough question! I would definitely want to have Mo Willems on it, because of both of my children's undying love for him and he's hilarious. Also, Suzanne Collins, because I'd love to get inside her head. And last would have to be CS Lewis, because of how he has changed my life.

I really liked that you picked Frank McCourt. I've read Angela's Ashes, and done Tis and Teacher Man on audiobook. The audiobooks are so much more fun than the books, because McCourt narrates them himself and he was a wonderful reader. Our local high school assigns Angela's Ashes for incoming freshman honors English (14 year olds) and my daughter said most of her friends hated it! They made them do the most boring assignment about it--when my daughter and I listened to Teacher Man together she wanted to write McCourt and tell him about the boring assignments being given with his books. I think he would have been very amused, given how he tried to come up with very creative assignments for his English students. Unfortunately he passed away before we were able to get a letter off. Now my son will be reading it as well. I would have loved to meet McCourt in person.
It would be fabulous to meet Laura Ingalls Wilder!!! I've visited the place where she wrote the book and that was awe-inspiring in and of itself!! :)
I definitely agree with Anne Frank. I'm sure I would love to hear what she has to say on any topic! And she will definitely have tons to say.
I'm in total agreement with your choices! Especially Laura Ingalls Wilder and Anne Frank. Did you watch the new Anne Frank movie that was on Masterpiece Theatre on PBS last month? It was excellent!
